Bangin’ Burgers!

We had a great weekend at camp for the Labor Day holiday weekend, and Monday morning I watched some TV while reading a magazine and enjoying a cup of coffee while the hubs took the truck and one of the four wheelers to town to hose off the mud from Sunday’s long ride.

I flipped through our three channels and settled on the Rachael Ray Show. I wasn’t planning on really watching; I just needed something on in the background.

She mentioned that she’d be making her husband’s favorite Turkey Burgers with Green Chiles and Guacamole and my ears perked up. She started describing them, and it just. sounded. GOOD.

I’m not confident in the kitchen. When I use a recipe (which happens anytime I stray from the usual 12-15 dinners I can make by memory) I have to look back at the ingredients and instructions about every other minute. It’s a little frustrating but I just don’t want to screw it up!

I found the link to the recipe before the show even ended, and bookmarked it on my phone. Today after work, I went for groceries and decided I’d make those burgers tonight. IMG_20150908_184720

They. Were. Bangin’!

Hubby didn’t put the guacamole on his, but he said it was still a really good burger. I went full out with the guac, and it was just such a great combination of flavors!

Give it a try. You might just be adding it to your repertoire!

Here’s the recipe, if you want to give them a try: click here

**These are, in my opinion, on the verge of being pretty healthy. Skip the bun and use lettuce as a bun or just eat it with a knife and fork. The cheese is real – not light – but I’d rather eat one slice of full fat cheese than a pound of chemical-laden, processed garbage.
